With the new tabbing regulations, it’s conceivable that some jobs will require an inkjet and two tabbers running in-line with each other. Add a separate feeder and a detached dryer table and you could have as many as 5 separate speed dials to control; And all of them are in different locations! This doesn’t even count the conveyor.

Consider the idea of electrical integration and Speed Following to improve your performance and simplify set-up. What is Speed Following? It’s a kit that includes encoders and a PLC, so that you can control all of your equipment with a single speed dial. This feature also gives you a common start/stop switch to prevent jams when stopping one of your in-line machines.

We had this done with our two tabbers, a KR and a Buskro, and it works great. Definitely recommend it.
